Our History

Foundation Acupunture is also the first Clinic in the United States to focus on Acupuncture for Problematic Internet Use:

Our goal: Promote awareness of Internet and Video Game addiction. Help individuals and families address this issue from a place of compassion and empathy. Enable all affected to utilize addiction as an opportunity to explore and develop life skills. Strive for optimal health in mind, body, and soul.

When I was 11, we had a family friend who received treatments from my father. I was too young to understand the condition, but the gratitude and relief left a strong impression on me. I knew then I wanted to be an acupuncturist. Later she would tell me that my father kept her off of dialysis.

When I was in my early 20’s, I went through struggles that drove me toward video gaming addiction. I played 16 hours a day and was on the fast track to ruin myself. I see my addiction and the process of recovery as concurrently the worst and best experience of my life.

Worst, because of the seemingly insurmountable struggle. Best, because recovery provided an undeniable opportunity for empowerment that forever changed me for the better.

This kind of life-long empowerment is what I hope for everyone currently struggling with Internet and Video Game addiction.
